New pain 3 weeks out??

I am 20 days post op. I have been doing very well, moving around almost normal, except for the lifting and pushing. Today, I noticed that I have a new pain in my incision, on the right side. I have a low bikini cut, and the pain is right where my ovary used to be. It is not a constant pain, just a quick twinge every few minutes if I am standing. Fewer if I'm laying or sitting. Has anyone had this? What could it be? I am not bleeding, my incision doesn't look any different, and there isn't any new lumpiness or swelling of my belly.

Oh, forgot to add: I did try to look at past posts, because I'm sure this topic has come up before, but I couldn't find the right one.

Re: New pain 3 weeks out??

Same for me, but my surgery was 3/17....same procedure. The past few days I have a new pain on my left side. Dull, achey I actually had to take pain meds today. I'm not bleeding and I'm not running fever...so I'm guessing it's just part of the healing process.

Re: New pain 3 weeks out??

Yeah, it's all healing. The twinges are from nerve endings healing, so my doc said. I still get dull pains running my left side and I'm three months out. Got a new one today at lunch though, a nice sharp stabbing sensation right where my left ovary is. OUCH!

Re: New pain 3 weeks out??

I am about 5 weeks out now and still have what I call the phantom ovarian pains... because I know they are not there! Same type of twinges or minor cramps, nothing that a motrin wouldn't relieve. Hang in there, every day becomes a better day... and as you realize this, you actually look forward to tomorrow! Make sure you get plenty of rest... that is really important and when they talk about overdoing things, be careful not to. Listen to your body, when you feel tired, REST!

Here's to a speedy recovery!

Re: New pain 3 weeks out??

I went for my post op checkup on Thursday and mentioned the same pain you sisters seem to have. She said it is nerve end pain and should go away as the internal sutures heal, at about 7 to 8 weeks. Heres' hoping because everything seemed well till about a week ago and the pain I have always seems to be there to spite taking ibuprofen.

Take care all

how long did your pain last?? i had a hysterectomy..left my ovaries though. right where my left ovary is i'm getting a sharp pain when i stand too long, cough or sneeze. i noticed that the pain started when i started an ab exercise. do you think it's the healing process?? i had the surgery on feb 23rd of this year..it's been 4 months. is it possible that my body is still trying to heal from it??

Re: New pain 3 weeks out??

I had a LAVH and had a pain in my right side incision long after I should have been healed.

My doctor told me she would be concerned after 6 months, but not before and it's gone away. I did too much on day 3. Make sure you take it easy and don't stress. That is how I figured out how to feel back to normal. Worrying makes everything worse.
