worsening symptoms

My symptoms are getting progressivly worse. Last Tuesday night I spent in the ER in unendurable pain, the ER doc gave me a shot of demerol and sent me home. Last night I was back in the ER for pain again. Once again I was given a shot and sent home. This shot however wore off pretty quickly and by midnight I was in pain again. Not only that but now I cannot urinate without pain. I am not talking about the burning you get with an infection, I am talking about not being able to get a stream going. I am walking around now with a full bladder and it is not the best feeling in the world. My bowel movements are no better. I have lost the quality of my life and I want it back, it all rests on the insurance company's approval.

Sorry to hear about your problems and that you are having to go through this. I did the same thing. Pain that just got too much to handle went to the ER, got a shot and went home. Then a week or so later couldn't empty my bladder, went to the ER, they put in a catheter and gave me a shot and sent me home. They said that my urethra may have been in spasm. Then more pain a couple weeks later and went to the ER, got a shot of dilaudid this time , they found 2 new cysts on my right ovary and they sent me home while I puked the entire 40 minute ride!!!
Finally got in to see my dr who said I needed a hyst ASAP - but the hospital won't let me in the door until my insurance approves it so I'm waiting for some releif.
I don't see how they can just repeatedly give you a shot and send you home and not do anything. It just makes me so mad!
Have you talked to the Dr about the difficulty in urination? That may be enough to get them into gear to do something, or at least give you something that will help.
I hope that you find some releif soon.

Hi!

I'm sorry you are having having these problems and pain. Have you discussed this with your doctor since things seem to be getting progressively worse? If you haven't, please give him/her a call.

I hope you are able to find relief soon and everything works out for you!

From what I can tell, you have not had surgery. My children used to have some bladder problems when they were little, and the nurse told me to put them in a warm tub and let them tinkle in the warm water. It doesn't hurt so much. Also, once they were able to go, it helped flush out what was bothering them. I'm sorry you're in such pain. Maybe this will help until you can get in to see your doctor.
