trouble with bowels

One of my muscles was cut during my sah. Not sure if that is normal. I know my fibroids were huge so I was not surprised when my doctor told me.

I've only had one watery bowel movement so far (i'm only 4 days post op). I've started taking stool softeners to help. I heard they are not harmful like laxatives. Have you tried magnesium? Before surgery I would take 1 or 2 - 200mg of magnesuim at bedtime and that would move things along gently for me.

I'm almost 4 wks out and have the bowel issue also. I, too drink lots of fluid. Crystal Light Raspberry Green Tea for me. Doing fruit & raw sugar snap peas. I've used Milk of Mag and stool softeners. I hear it takes a while for the organs to go back to where God put them.

So, it's good knowing we're not alone, but I'm praying for all of us to get some "r-e-l-i-e-f' ...

I am 3.5 weeks post op and having the same issue. I never have had problems with this before so it is very frustrating. I take a stool softener every night but that doesn't seem to be enough. Today it hurts to sit upright because I am constipated. I am considering doing an enema just to get some relief. I have my 4 week post-op appointment on Wednesday and plan on asking her what to do. I think when I am like this it makes me feel bad all over and definitely adds to my pain from surgery. Thanks for posting this!
