Surgery was on the 9th, home sweet home!

hello sisters, I made it! the surgery went well. Once again thanks for all your advice. It really made my surgery planning and hospital stay go well. I had my ovaries and uterus removed, Decided to leave the Cervix. What the Dr. Found: The Cyst in my ovary was twisted and would have become dangerous very soon, My fibroids were very large. From the top of the uterus and almost the full size of it. All in All it was the right decision for me. The doctor and the nurses were wonderful. I was given a bikini line incision. The staples come off Monday. I was so scared and nervous right before the surgery, but when it was over, because i kinda knew what to expect it made the whole process much better. I'm at home now being treated like a Queen by my husband and children. Having my room ready made it so easy coming home. Now I'm ready rest and heal. For all my sisters with surgery dates coming up, hang in there and always asks questions if your not sure even if you think there silly. If it's on your mind its no silly to you. Hang in there my Sister's! Until we chat again.

Congrats! My surgery was the 9th, too, so you and I are in the same boat. Mine was DaVinci assisted but either way, the parts are out and let the healing begin!

Re: Surgery was on the 9th, home sweet home!

I am also a daughter of the 9th..... I had a TAH & a bladder sling and am doing great. No bleeding at all, very little gas, 2 BM's, urinating just fine. The worse part is getting from a prone position to standing. I have found that I need to sit on our loveseat. Anything else is to painful to get out of.....

Bragger!

I've only had one BM and let me tell you, that was the most sublime thing I've experienced lately. Now I just need to get back to normal.

Hello Sistah's Got the staples out yestereday!!!! Didn't hurt at all. just taking it easy BM's went okay, still no bleeding. My Doc gave me a handicap tag so when I go to the Dr. office I don't have to trek accross the large parking lot. The Tag is good for 2mos. I hope all is well for all of you Cheers! Have a great nite...
