Bev,

Yes to both questions. I don't think it's so bad to have a rupture happen right before your surgey, unless it's an endometrioma. Do you know what kind of cyst it is? Usually (99% of the time) they are simple, functional cysts that normally rupture. Sometimes they hemorage into themselves before rupturing, but that is pretty normal, too. If your pain is so intense that you are doubled over and can't even walk, you should get to the ER asap!

If there is any fluid from a rupture, your dr. can clean it up if he feels it is necessary. Also, he will get a really good look at it while it is healing over and see that all is well. If all is not well, what a great opportunity to have it corrected, if necessary!

Good luck and don't worry (too much)! Cyber (((HUGS))) to you!

The Dr. told me that I have fluid around my ovaries and uterus, would that cause me to have pain down there a lot?

Sometimes it can cause pain. I was in horrible pain due to cysts and fibroids before surgery. If the cyst bursts, you'll know!! The doctor can do alot to clean it up, and usually won't be that bad. The good news is they can really see all that stuff on the ultrasound/mri. Worst case scenario?? Possible early hyster.?? You are already so close!!
