one week to go...went shopping!
When in doubt...try shopping! A friend gave me a pair of PJs for my upcoming trip to the castle. From reading on my favorite website I decided to return them for a gown. I tend to be a t-shirt and shorts kind of gal but when I got in the section of Kohl's with all those pretty pink things I went nuts! I ended up buying 3 new gowns and slippers too! I just kept thinking I'm having surgery I need to be pampered! LOL I also bought a new sketch pad and colored pencils! What that has to do with my recovery I'm not sure! I told my DH I needed those to express my feelings through art!

What a great idea. I like to pretend I can draw every so often. Now I have to decide if I should try and find my art stuff...or justify my colored pencil passion...where's the nearest art supply store...gotta go, gotta Google.!!!

I pretend that I can draw too. But it sure is helping these days. I drew a picture of myself the other day with all these little demons (fibroids) inside that I feel like are taking over me. I tried to draw them as little devils with horns. My 13 year old saw it and asked why I had all those cats inside of me!

I wondered when I got my CT scan they didn't call it a CAT scan anymore.
Maybe they could be little demon cats.

Re: one week to go...went shopping!
You know, I once had a cat that I think was posessed by a demon!
The art supplies are a great idea, I know I am going to do plenty of coloring during my recovery. If you are a bit hindered in your options because of lack of drawing ability (like myself), I would highly recommend coloring mandalas. You can find them on several websites to print out, or you can even buy mandala coloring books. They are circular designs (usually) with different patterns and themes. Coloring them is very theraputic and relaxing. I love coloring them with Sharpies, it makes the colors nice and vibrant. Anything works though!

Haven't tried them yet. I love graph paper. Fell in love in kindergarten, still remember the thrill of designing with crayons and graph paper. Still chart endlessly at times. Also loved to make designs with marbles on the Chinese Checker Board. Will d*****ately need to check out Mandalas!
Also had a demon cat, he terrorized the poor Basenji/Aussie for hours on end.

Re: one week to go...went shopping!
Your demon cats reminded me of the "dermoid?" tumor my sister had on her ovary. It was the kind that grow teeth and hair. (I told her that was the son my Mom always wanted. It was growing inside her the whole time---her twin brother)...LOL Told her she should have had the doctor take a picture of it so we could hang it up on the wall with us 4 girls...LOL
Anyways, there's a little visual for your sketchbook!
Thanks for the good laugh. Once I get my sugery date, think I'll go shopping too!
