Re: Pre surgery breakdown

I don't see my doctor on there but she's not listed. Maybe it's just because it's the military.

That could be. I would ask her if she can do it robotic. If not, then she may know of a doc that she can refer you to. The cost of the robotic is very comparable to doing a hyster any other way. Keep checking.

Re: Pre surgery breakdown

Friday is my surgery and I'm anxious and nervous. I'm trying to stay busy and I'm pmsing, short and snippy. I've got lots of food in the house for the family and trying to get all the tough jobs, shower cleaned, floors vac'd and mopped, laundry finished so they won't be overwhelmed when I'm in bed or unable to lift.

I got my after surgery RX filled and reading the antibiotic info made me nervous. Geez those side effects are scary.

Best wishes for a smooth surgery and recovery!

Re: Pre surgery breakdown

Waiting for the surgery is hell. The relief of having it over with is indescribable. And if you are as lucky as I was, all of your cancer will be removed during surgery and you will need no further treatment!!!!

Re: Pre surgery breakdown

Best of luck to all of you ladies!!! You will do great! I was terrified, but this site and it's wealth of knowledge and support was so helpful!!!!

I am 7 days post op and I feel great. I had the daVinci total hysterectomy and got to keep my ovaries, so I can't help ya about the HRT. I can tell you that the pain was nowhere near what I imagined and feared. Day 1: I was very sore, but had a wonderful nurse who kept me "ahead" of the pain.

Recovery at home has been great too. My biggest issue has been gas pain and bowel movements. My best advice is to get up and move! I also had great success with gas x, stool softners, and breakfasts of yogurt and lots of fresh fruit.

Take it easy on yourselves, know you are not alone and that this is so much easier than your imagination has surely convinced you!!!!

Best wishes and a speedy recovery
