Why am I not in pain??

I keep reading posts about people hurting so bad after coming home, and for weeks/months after surgery, but, I havent felt any pain ever since I came home.

I had a vaginal hyster, keeping only my ovaries, and a bladder sling at the same time.

I am just in no pain, and it makes it hard to remember to slow down, sit down, and take it easy.

Am I the only one who hasnt felt any pain?

Still bleeding, but, other than that i'm just feeling normal. ??
Am I a freak?!?!?

Why am I not in pain??

Be thankful and praise God you aren't hurting!!!
I took pain meds for the first 3 weeks after my TVH.I know I couldn't have gotten through the days without the meds.
I'm so happy you are pain free.BUT, remember even though you are NOT hurting........you need to rest and take things easy so you can heal right

Why am I not in pain??

Congratulations on your easy recovery. I can certainly relate, as I haven't had any pain meds since the recovery room. There are so many different kinds of surgery, so many variations in pain tolerance, general fitness, etc. that it is impossible to tell who will have a lot of pain and who will breeze through. I just about died from the boredom the first few days until I could start working from home. It would have been much easier to rest if I wasn't feeling well.

I hope your recovery continues to be uneventful.

Why am I not in pain??

PrincessHeather

So happy that you have not had pain...I was also one of the lucky ones. Really only felt discomfort at the hospital, NOT pain. At my two week appt my GYNs nurse asked if I needed a refill for my pain pills. I asked her "What pain?" My GYN was very happy to hear this.

Be very thankful. I think pain level has to do with overall general health and fitness levels. I also think that a positive attitude about your surgery helps. The biggest challenge of my recovery (which has been uneventful) was to rest and try not to do so much in the first couple of weeks.

Wishing you more uneventfulness in your recovery. Take care.

Why am I not in pain??

Good Morning:
No, I never felt any pain with my hysterectomy. I had complications and needed emergency surgery for a small bowel obstruction. That surgery gave me tremendous amounts of pain (mostly gas pain) but the hysterectomy itself. No, NO PAIN AT ALL!

I was expecting a ton of pain from reading other post op posts.
I had a LAVH and I am here to tell others that may be scared. It was pain free for me!!!

Why am I not in pain??

I wouldn't call you a freak. I had a LAVH 10 days ago. I'm trying really hard to behave. Occasionally, my belly button incision is a little unhappy. Last night, I rolled over in bed the wrong way...wrong enough to wake me up. But other than that...I'm feeling pretty good. Still a little swollen, enough that I haven't tried on any of my pants. Just living in my bike shorts. Still a bit of bleeding (I use that as my reminder...dusted and did some general cleaning yesterday, felt okay but when I went to the bathroom, I was reminded quickly)

I have noticed that my stamina is greatly impaired. I've been taking walks with my sons. Started with three house lengths (which I guess would be six because it was down three and back), then five, last night we made it seven. I'm used to walking my subdivision and the two connected to us. In less than two weeks, I have to be able to stand on my feet for 8 hours and walk the length of the restaurant a bazillion times over. Here's hoping the general fatigue and tiredness go away soon. Today will be my first day out of the house. I'm going to lunch with my parents. Hopefully I can handle going and stuffing my face.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how easy (knock on wood) my recovery has been (easier than my lap and hysteroscopy). I think I worked it up so much in my head that anything would've been better than what I thought it was going to be.

I wish you continued success and just remember to take it easy since your body isn't reminding you with pain.
