How fast do fibroids grow? (new member)

Update on my fibroids. I received the report on the pelvic ultrasound I received on the 10th of November It says there are two fundal fibroids, the largest measuring 6.5cm and the smaller measuring 4.4 centimeters. Both ovaries were morphologically normal, though I talked to another doctor who said that pelvic ultrasounds are not accurate with regards to ovaries and I should at least get a transvaginal ultrasound.

No hydronephrosis.

I'm going to see my general practitioner (primary care doctor is what they are called sometimes) and discuss options for treatment. Any thoughts on the report results are MOST welcome!

Sounds to me like you might be a really good candidate for HIFU but then again I am not a doctor. I was told that you could have HIFU if you had just a few fibroids and if they were between 3 and 12 cm. I tried to have this done but couldn't because according to the MRI, they had grown too big by the time I saw the doctor that specialized in this. As it turns out, my biggest was 12cm but it had wiped out my uterine cavity so the hysterectomy was probably necessary in any case.

I looked into HIFU, but only one place in the United Kingdom (where I live) performs the procedure and the first appointment even to be seen was December 20th. Plus, not sure if insurance would cover. It does sound a very advanced and kind option, however!
