where do the eggs go?!

This is probably a ridiculous question, but people keep asking me (I've no idea why!) that if I'm keeping my ovaries, but my womb is being removed.... where do my eggs go every month?

I never know how to reply except laugh, and it completely slipped my mind when I last saw my doc. Any answers (serious or otherwise)?!

When the ovary releases an egg, it stays within the pelvic cavity and is reabsorbed by your body.

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders about the silly things! Plenty more where that one came from ;-)

You're not alone girls - I wondered too. I guessed they just went into the abdominal cavity and hung out until they died or disappeared or whatever. Now I'll have wandering eggs.
