Vaginal cuff stitches if cervix remains???..

Hi sisters...
I,m a bit confused.If i kept my cervix would i have stitches in the vaginal cuff??!
Nothing has been mentioned and i did,nt have an internal at my 6week check.

If you kept your cervix then you do not have a vaginal cuff. The cuff is necessary to close the vaginal canal when the cervix is removed.

The vagina cuff is the name of the incision to close the vagina when the entire uterus with cervix is removed. Thus, if you have your cervix you do not have a vaginal cuff. But, that does not mean you don't have stitches.

Each surgeon uses his/her own method when removing the upper portion of the cervix. Some stitch the cervix closed, some allow it to heal on its own, and some use a coagulation method. Thus, if you are concerned with what stitches you may have, you will need to check with your surgeon.
