Deprovera anyone?

Greetings sisters, I was wondering if anyone has taken Deprovera as shots. I was given 300mg in December in the butt to put me in temporary menopause cause I had been hemmoredging every month when I got my period which made me anemic and had to have transfusions.. but since Dec/04 no peiod so I am debating about just keep getting the shots.. but deep down I know my Fibroid has to come out but am curious as to know what woudl happen to the Fibrois if I just stay on the Deprovera to buy me more time. Possibly you have had Lupron Depot shots instead of Deprovera shots??? Lupron causes chemical menopause that you described having.

I did (3) months of lupron shots to shrink my fibroids enough for my LSH. I had hot flashes, night sweats and I lost inerest in sex. My fibroids did shrink enough for my LSH and I have not had any lupron side effects since surgery.

My Dr. did tell me that if I chose not to go ahead with my hyst, my fibroids would start growing back after I stopped having the shots. My Dr. also discussed the long term side effects of lupron. He chose to use it only for 3 months since it can cause bone density loss if used too long. I can suggest talking to your Dr. about that if you stay on lupron long term.
