Just got op date - in UK
Hello, I have just seen my consultant and agreed to a Hysterctomy on 21st Jan, It will be a TAH BSO (I think thats right - losing my marbles as well as my ovaries!)
I am panicking at the moment, not about the decision, I really think it is the best way forward for me, but about organising my family whilst I am under the weather.(English phrase, hope it means the same to you)
I have a husband, but he works away most weeks, and his work can not easily be changed, I have 3 daughters 7.8 &14 - the 8 year old is a darling but is special needs, she has learning difficulties, Autistic tendencies and is Hyperactive, but calming down a little. This means that care in school holidays is very difficult to find as she can not attend ordinary playschemes. We have an 8 day school holiday here 3 weeks after my op. My mum can cope whilst they are at school, but for whole days she will find it very difficult. My eldest is not off school at the same time as her hols are different, so she can't help. I think I will have to call in a lot of favours.
I am also worried about Hrt ' To HRT or not to HRT - that is the question' I guess I have got a lot of research to do.
Anyone with any ideas or just reassurance that I will survive would be a big help!
