Re: Sore near IV location still?

BlueEyedWonder... Just curious... has your lump gone away yet? I have the same exact thing right at my wrist below the IV spot. I remember seeing your post a month or so ago, and found it again when I was searching about the hard lump I have in my vein. It's pretty painful when you touch it! And I can see it sticking up too. So just curious how long it'll take to go away. Thanks!

Re: Sore near IV location still?

Foxpup, I had a very sore spot and a lump on my wrist. Entire area was very sore but it went away after a couple of weeks. I think others have said normally 2-3 weeks. Glad to know it was normal. I wasnt prepared for it though!

Re: Sore near IV location still?

Foxpup last week it was still sore, after reading this post I went to check it, and it's weird, I can tell you exactly where it hurts, but it doesn't hurt. Maybe it's memory of the pain or whatnot.

Actually I take that all back, closer to the wrist bone I can feel the vein and it is tender. Almost a hardening of the vein as I could feel it roll around as I moved it.

Course it took a bit of poking to actually feel the tender spot compared to the "Ouch" as soon as I touched it. So if it's basically gone by this point, I figure in a few more weeks it'll just be a memory.

Re: Sore near IV location still?

I had a popped up vein on my hand several inches below the actual IV site that stayed there for almost 3 months. One day I just noticed that it had gone down considerably and now it's normal.

Re: Sore near IV location still?

Thanks... good to know it'll probably take awhile to go away. Anyone know what it actually is?

Re: Sore near IV location still?

Mine was so sore for weeks and the bump the size of a marble even moved up my forearm a bit. Creepy. Doc. said it's okay for mine anyway.
