Hypothyroid and flaxseed oil or black cohash

Hi Ladies:

I had my 6 wk post op appointment today and I was told by my doctor that I am healing very well.
I then asked my doctor about aleviating menopausal symptoms and she told me about flaxseed oil or black cohash.
My question is if I took flaxseed oil or black cohash would it cause any problems with my hypothyroidism? At present I am on Levoxyl which I take by itself in the am.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Hi, I take thyroid med for hypothyroid and my doctor told me to take omega 3, which if I am right is what flax oil is. I usually use fish oil but I have used flax in the past. I take it to raise my good cholestral.

Thanks Cindiwhat: I really appreciate that, I will get some the next time I go to the store. I am so concerned when I take other things that it would either affect my thyroid or my liver.
