sex question answered at 2 weeks

I've been reading a lot of posts this morning about sex, what kind and when questions. I had my 2 week post-op on June 20 and asked the question. Before my surgery my doctor told me "pelvic rest" for 6 weeks, basically meaning "nothing going IN". At my appointmet I asked him what I CAN do. He again said "nothing going IN" and followed with "anything else is fine. BF and I have had a little "play time", but the orgasm felt different. It was just as good, but was followed with some uncomfortable muscle type discomfort. I'm not worried at all, just thankful that everything still seems to work. It's difficult waiting the six weeks, but still am thankful I still have the desire. I'm hoping my desire doesn't go away. I know many of us have the fear of losing it. Anyway, just thought I'd share this info with all of you in case some of you have these same questions.

You did the right thing--you called your doctor! I'm glad you did and that you were allowed to check things out a little. I am sure it was very reassuring to find that it's okay, though a bit different for you at this time. That may change as you get further into recovery.

Each and every woman is encouraged to call her own doctor because not all circumstances, surgeries, recoveries and doctors are the same. What's most important is to communicate openly with our doctors and let them know our questions and concerns. No doubt they have heard it all before!
