Weird question...

So I am almost 2weeks post op (davinci) and of all thing my neck and shoulders are sore from the Central Line they put in for IV and sleeping on my back. Well my body doesn't like that so in my sleep I switch to my stomache and then wake up sore because my stomache doesnt like that. The not so happy compromise is 5AM and I am still awake with my neck back and side throbbimg. The pain meds help my tummy pain, but my neck and shoulder are swollen and stiil sore. Who knew my biggest pain would be above the waist. Any suggestions?

Re: Weird question...

use a pillow font and back to support side sleeping if you can. I made the mistake at about 4 weeks flopping onto my stomach during restless sleep, now at 10 weeks i'm still afraid to roll onto my stomach like that lol

I am a side sleeper my self .I had a total LAVH 11 days ago and what plagued me was my back also .

I found a small pillow that tucks in to my shorts ,(i wear very baggie ones and no undies ) .I tuck it a little under my side side for support when i turn on my side and am able to lay fairly comfy on my side when i turn over , almost to my stomach . I can not lay fully on stomach yet, but get fairly close . To me it feels like my insides are falling down ,and some how it supports my stomach and pelvic area .

I tease my kids because i look like i am 6 months pregnant when i do that .

Try something like that but arrange it to your comfort or think about getting a massage ,heating pads .

take care

Re: Weird question...

Thanks ladies! I think I have stolen every pillow from every room in my house. My daughter says I look like I built a fort and I will try this tonight and see if we have found my happy place! Thanks.
