Have I overdone it and damaged myself? 5 weeks post hysterectomy

Hello ladies
Its 4am and I'm wide awake from discomfort and also worry that I've set myself back or done some serious damage.
I'm 5 weeks post op and these last few days I have been walking 2-3 miles per day and generally being a lot more active than previously. Up till yesterday I was feeling amazing, non pain, a lot more energy and apart from crying at pretty much anything, I figured I was well on the mend and ready for back to work next week.
Friday night I had sex with my partner which felt fine and had no pain or issues. I haven't been released by my surgeon yet. She won't see me till week 9post op which is rather frustrating, so now I'm freaking that maybe I've caused myself problems.
Basically I now have pain walking and moving. Mainly on the right hand side as if I have a bad stitch. It feels like I've strained myself and is really uncomfortable when walking up and down stairs (which I'm now having tondo regularly as I'm back at home in my own house after recovering at my parents which was on one level)
I feel like such an idiot and am freaking out that I've set myself back big time. I will go to see my GP tomorrow but just needed to ask if anyone else has had set backs like this.
Feeling like a naughty teenager who is being punished for her immoral ways!
Gutted, scared and crazily emotional too.
Any advice would be greatly received

Im just a hyster sis not a doc
Read your post op instructions from your surgeon and if you have any of the symptoms they want you to call on, then call them
In the meantime, my suggestion is to take it easy, don't do your walking today, take some anti-inflammatory med, and see how things are going. Post back here. Hopefully you just did more than youre used to and everything will be all right.

Of course you always want to check things out with your doctor when you have concerns. It is good that you have made an appointment.

I am just a bit ahead of you in recovery but I too had what felt like a constant side stitch(left side) for two days during week five. For me it was that I had clearly over done things. I had to resort to taking Motrin and living in the recliner again for two days with the heating pad. Just a note of encouragement...week six was great. I was able to walk a couple of miles several days. And my energy level was more normal. Felt like my old self for the most part with a minor twing here and there just to remind me to not over do things again. Hope you are feeling better soon and the Dr gives you good report.

Thank you so much. I Will do exactly that and just relax for a couple of days. Things always seem more scary in yhe middle of the night.
I really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks so much for such a quick response. I do think I've just overdone
Things and need to ease up a bit, so today is officially a rest day!
If it persists after some pain killers and anti inflammatory meds will check with doc.
Thank you again

It would be a good idea to let your dr know that you had sex, since you weren't released.

One of the things I was told to report immediately was any "new" pain. If it were me, I would definitely call my surgeon's office and report this pain.

Yes, it would.

There could be something serious going on. And if there is, you don't want it to get worse over the next couple of days.

Re: Have I overdone it and damaged myself? 5 weeks post hysterectomy

Zamsam I read your story and started to laugh as I was reading thinking how did someone write my story. As your was the first I read this morning.I did the exact same thing last night as we didn't not have full on intercourse My husband and I were having kinda outercourse.I thought I would be able to stop myself from pentatrating but no.. After we finished I had so much pain on my left side I throw up: (it was also around 3 am and I was freaking out. I was confused if it was because of our dirty playing around or the glass of wine or two I had for the first time sense my surgery. The good news is I feel better today my belly is just a little sore so I am thinking it's just another party of healing!! But please keep me updated to what your Dr says. Thanks
