5months post op smell

Hi all! I just have a question and haven't been able to get real answers. Since the surgery, every time I have intercourse I have been noticing a smell. I've never noticed it before the operation. The dr says I have no infection at all and I've been w the same partner for 3 years. Has anyone else noticed a change in vaginal smell that wasn't there before the operation? I don't know if this makes a difference but mine was done vaginally. :-/ it's beginning to make me very insecure.

Re: 5months post op smell

Did your doctor do swabs? It sounds like a bacterial infection. If he hasn't I would definitely ask to have it done. If that's what it is then the smell will clear in two days. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: 5months post op smell

Hi!

I didn't experience a difference in smell... but I did notice a marked difference in the amount of lubrication/discharge I had. I used to have copious natural moisture, and sometimes there was a smell associated with it. Not necessarily "bad", but it was definitely there.

In your case, if it's something new, it's definitely worth a call to the doctor. As the other (((sister))) said, there could be an infection lurking. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong, or the did anything wrong -- but sometimes infections happen when your system goes through the trauma of surgery. Your body is so busy healing that infections can creep in.

It's definitely making you self-conscious so it's absolutely worth a call to the doc. Let us know what happens, OK?

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. Maybe it's something about our July surgery week, ha! Hoping it goes away with time, hadn't thought about it being anything other than annoying.

Just out of curiosity are you using hrt? I just read a thread from way back and women said they caused a change in smell if they were taken orally
