Can anyone answer a hematoma question??

(: hi, I am 10 days post op and developed a hematoma on around day 3, at least that's when I notice it. At first i just thought it was a huge bruise until the rest of the swelling and bruising went down apart from this I went to my gp on Thursday and she said it should disperse on its own over time, but today it seems to have got slightly bigger and I am definitely feeling the tightness and pain a lot more. I don't have any fever and it is not red or warm to the touch. I am going to go back and see my gp on Monday, but I just want to make sure, If anyone knows, the need to get it looked at sooner.

I know common sense and I should use my judgement, but unless a visit to e.r is essential then I want to avoid it.

I'm really fed up with being in pain. I wish I could be 4 weeks down the line :-(

I had a hematoma in my abdominal area about 1 week post. It was a large hard mass and I felt pressure from. I was seen by my dr and he told me the same thing that it could take a while to disappear....even months! I am 5 months post and it has shrunk a lot but not completely gone. You do have to be patient.
