anyone have a tummy tuck with vag hyst? I am considering t.tuck

Hello all. I am sch. for a vag. hyst. and was considering a tummy tuck. It's just a thought. My sister had a tummy tuck and has a "FLAT" belly now. My belly never went down after 2 kids. I am overweight. My sister had one and she belly got even bigger after her 3rd child. She was overweight but not obese ...just had a very large belly. She lost weight after the surgery due to everything being tighter and no being able to eat as much. Plus she wanted to lose.
I was wondering if anyone had a tummy tuck and vag. hyst. How they felt....I don't even have the money for the t. tuck but would find a way. I figured while I was in there and the anthesia would be paid for and the hospital stay, etc. maybe I could do it. I would have to find a dr. I would ask the gyno.

I didn't but due know there are a few women on this site that did. I do know from lots of research that it depends on how overweight you are whether or not they will perform one though. Most PS won't do one as a means for weight loss, more for loose skin and a bit of extra fat that won't come off from diet & exercise.

I would think normally you would just have to pay the Dr's fees for the TT, but since you are having a Vag hyst that may be more involved. I think most of the ladies have it in conjunction with an abdominal hyst. GYN goes in does his thing then PS does the TT and closes. Good luck to you.

As mami said, there have been several members who have had TT with their hyst, but I'm not sure if any of them had a TVH or if they were all abdominal hysts.

i had a tummy tuck and hyst at the same time. But I had an Abdominal Hyst , so that the could go in thrrough the same incision line. It was expensive, but I have insurance and so because i had both at the same time , My insurance paid for my hosp stay, anesthesia, ( with the exception of the time scheduled for the tummy tuck) and recovery. I paid cash for the plastic surgery. But it was well worth it. Hope all goes well..... Good Luck

I am 9 days post op from a TVH with tummy tuck. I feel great. I wanted the TT forever but never got around to taking the time or spending the money. When I finally decided to have the Hyst I new it was now or never so I bit the financial bullet and went for it. Having the two surgeries together saved me $2000 off the cost of the TT.

I also think the recovery is faster with the TVH and TT than to have TAH. The plastic surgeon will do some "muscle tightening" but they don't actually disturb the muscle layer. It is confusing but true. What they tighten is not really muscle.

It was also nice because my OB new he had the option of going abdominally if he ran into any trouble. Which he did not. I asked my OB first about having both surgeries, he then refered me to a great surgeon up stairs in the same building. It worked out great for me. I hope it can for you as well. Good luck in making your final decision. I could not be happier about my outcome so far. No complaints at all.
