Adenomyosis Symptoms

Hi Anne,
We decided to keep my ovaries due to my age. However, if he gets in there and decides they need to go, they go. We'll deal with the rest afterwards. But why fix something that doesn't need to be fixed? I think its a personal decision that every woman needs to make on their own. I'm just ready to start feeling better and get back to my life as I used to know it. Especially after the last few days when I have hurt so bad I can barely move again. I am also taking Darvocet like they are candy which I'm not crazy about. Luckily they haven't had the same affect as it sounds like they are with you. I'm sorry you are having that complication. Is there something else your Dr can Rx that wouldn't have that affect?
Feel free to send me an email or PM if you would like to talk further. Always nice to be able to talk to someone who is going through the same thing. I'm also in CA so there is another common thread.
I need to get going as it hurts to type at the moment and am trying to get some work done... 2 more days then I am going out on disability. At this point I'm missing a day at least every week due to pain. I'm glad my surgery date is right around the corner otherwise I might just take out my parts myself.... lol
Hugs
Jen

novasure

My grandmother died from uterine hemmorage. My mother had symptomatic fibroids the size of a basketball and other uterine disease, she dealt with them with cigerettes and martinis which killed her. We think a fibroid grew into her lung and became cancerous with all the smoking-too darn bad. My 35 yr old sister has the same problems, she had the novasure and likes the results, but does have to keep maintaining her diseased uterus in the medical community with repeat tests etc...Novasure was offered to me too, but while it may lessen the bleeding problems, it wasn't going to offer much relief for the large fibroids paining me and endo problems. I'm opting for the hysterectomy, want to get on with life and quit running my diseased uterus to ever more doctors, testers, administrators...Hopefully my story will turn out with a happy ending, where my HRT eventually gets worked out, where I recover to new hopefully improved normal and go on to compete in Senior Olympics in a decade. Love Noom

Novasure was something that was offered to me as well and although it would help with the bleeding, that wasn't my biggest concern. In fact, compared to the other women here, my bleeding is rather 'normal'. I did some reading and it looked like it didn't do much for the pain which is a HUGE concern of mine. So opted not to do it either. I wasn't going to go through all of that, only to have to start all over again in a few months.
I wish you all luck!! I know I could use all I can get... that and patience to deal with this until I have surgery. I'm about at the end of my rope and become a big, bawling mess when I hurt this bad. I get so frustrated.
hugs

Adenomyosis Symptoms

Hey Jen,

You MUST be my long lost twin sister !

I have the same problems, even the 4 DS's call me name's, Wacky woman, Crazy mom, 16 Y.O. even said the "B" word last month...tried not to ground him to harshly, he was SO right!

Anyway, I had an ablation almost 6 months ago and my DR and I both thought that since it did NOT work that the hyst was the best possible answer to most of my problems. I still worry about the PMS, cramps and loose stools (can't spell the other word, LOL). Dr.'s advise was to get rid of the major problem 1st and wait and see if that takes care of the others. She said it does make a difference...we'll see. I have tried over the counter med's for the PMS, the one that say's "iritability" and they do work some, I think it might be better after the surgery.

Hope this help's some for you!

Kelly

Adenomyosis Symptoms

Howdy back Kelly,
I know what you mean!! Luckily my kids are young enough not to call me the B word yet.... lol although, some days, I wouldnt' blame them if they did!
I'm with you, get rid of the major problem and everything else will be much more manageable. I'm thinking that alot of the diahreah? (I can't spell it either lol) is from all the water I retain and its my body getting rid of it. But who knows. I'm on an anti depressant to help with the mood swings, which helps most of the time. Again, I believe that most of the mood swings stem from being so frustrated with feeling like this AGAIN! But once I get rid of the parts that are making me miserable, then I can focus on what else needs to get done and be much better prepared to handle it. And who knows, they may all go away with the uterus! Wouldn't that be nice!
Wishing you lots of luck in your surgery! Keep me posted on how you are doing!
hugs from your long lost sis,
Jen

Yes you are correct Klassicblonde, the novasure ablation helps with the heavy bleeding but not the labor paings

I never had the pains before the novasure ablation but had it 4 months after this surgery. Doctor said the cramping pains had nothing to do with the surgery, it is inside the muscle lining of the uterus and the only way to remove those pains is to have the hysterictomy (well plus I have other things going on with adhesions around the ovary)

But you are correct, I had it done and it didn't do anything for pain, ONLY HEAVY BLEEDING.
