6 weeks post hysterectomy: Very confusing - kept ovaries

Hi I had my hysterectomy 6 weeks ago I had a lot of problems from having 4 c sections another op to seperate my uterus from lots of scar tissue inside finally I couldn't take the pain any more from everything inside my bowel bladder an uterus had all stuck together again so they gave me a hysterectomy all I can say is omg no one prepared me for what would happen after the shock menapause crying bloated hot flushes still I'm not good I kept my ovaries so I thought it was going to be ok but why don't any medical ppl tell u what happens after I haven't slept more then 4 hours in a night I'm so depressed

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. It can take a while for the ovaries to "wake up" and get back into the game again. If it doesn't resolve soon, I would definitely talk to your doctor. Remember, we all heal differently.

Hi im six weeks post op too. Kept ovaries but i too have had incredible bouts of crying and what i can only describe as feelings of utter desolation. I often wake up in the middle of nights for hours too. I dont know why i thought keeping ovaries this would be different...i just hope it settles in time...i hope that you feel better soon too....if i dont i am going to get some tablets from doctor to lighten my mood...take care and know you are not alone in this x

Hi, sorry you are having all these symptoms on top of what youve already been thru... Anxiety, insomnia, depression, crying, mood swings, hot flashes, fatigue are all symptoms of menopause. Your ovaries sound like they have a reduced function. It could take time to adjust or the new normal. Contact your DR for suggestions. Theres things you can do diet wise & supplements to help. So look into natural treatments. Ive also posted on this on 4/5 post. I hope you feel better. I think once you get balanced, youll feel much better..
