LAVH Finally feeling good at day 10

Went to the garden center with my husband this morning and did ok. I am well reminded by my body that there is still a lot of healing going on. As a nurse, I am quite humbled by this whole experience. Working at the bedside I only see these types of patients for 24hiurs these days and I am usually able to control the pain with I'VE pain management. Unfortunately I never get to see the true post op recovery living in my own silo. Post op istructions have room for improvement with regards to most Gyn practices-thank god for this forum as I can see that a lot of you clearly did not get the education piece to this journey that you so deserved.

You are so right! I wish throughout the years doctors would give post op patients questionnaires to fill out. That way they could compile data and have a much better idea the range of healing we all go through! Glad to hear you felt well enough to make an outing to the store. Listen carefully to your body and be careful not to over do things and set yourself back. hat sometimes happens when we start feeling a bit better.

My sister will have a hyster later this year (probably Fall) and I'm sending her emails now - things to ask your doctor, things to do to get ready, things to think about (like teaching the dog to not jump in her lap!).

I call my oldest sister (who had hyster a few years ago) and ask her questions - she is far enough past her surgery that she didn't think to educate me
