Bleeding
I am 4 weeks 3 days post-op and I started bleeding last night. It's not that bad, but it is enough to scare me. I am wondering if all my coughing has caught up with me. I know I'm not supposed to worry about it unless I am filling a pad an hour, which I'm not, but I am still worried. I am wondering if I should call the doc anyways. I plan on spending the day laying down.

Bleeding
Hi MickeyNut,
Sorry to hear that this is happening to you. I do know that my doctor told me that when the stitches start to dissolve that I could have some reddish spotting. In fact, last night when I went to the restroom, I wiped and it was brighter red. Nothing horrific, it seems to come and go between pinkish and bright red. It can be very frustrating because after everything I have gone through, I want the spotting to stop. Just keep an eye on it and get plenty of rest. It wouldn't hurt to give the doctor a call just to ease your mind. Take care and let us know how things go and what the doc says!!

Thanks! My doc never said that the spotting would turn red, he said that it would stay pinkish or brownish. It lets up and stops and then starts again. I will just keep resting and watching it. Hopefully it won't get bad and I am just worrying about nothing!

Bleeding
Wiping and finding spotting of blood could be a sign of healing, stitches disolving, or having done too much. Any bleeding more then that, at your recovery time, definately should be discussed with your doctor. Hope you feel better soon.

Bleeding
It's definitaly more than just when wiping! And that is what scares me. I soaked a panty liner last night and had my sister give me a pad so I could see how bad it was. I haven't soaked a pad yet, so I am trying to not worry about it. Right now, it has stopped. I will probably call the doc in the morning if it is still happening. Thanks for the support, ladies!

Bleeding
I had TAH on 1/30 and have had no vaginal bleeding until today (lots of other stuff--popped inside suture, wound infection, popped open incision, have to go to wound care, and now UTI). This morning I noticed bright red bleeding--mostly just when I wipe myself--and am not panicing yet--have normal doctor appt at 9 in the morning so will discuss and share with you ladies what he says. I was prepared for the brownish stuff but not this. I have been coughing gently today so maybe that is causing it.
I will be so glad when this healing process is over!
