emotions - how long does this last

OK - it has been 10 weeks since my TAH with both ovaries removed. I am on vivelle dot 0.1 and have been since surgery. The thing is - I am still crying over stupid things, and I am grouchy more than usual. How long does it take to feel normal emotionally? Should I try different HRT? We live a stressful life anyway - but I don't even feel like myself. I even cried when my son was watching "Cars" the other day - the part where they are playing the sad song and all the other cars are passing by the little town, not stopping. That is not like me - I don't usually cry over much of anything. Thanks for any suggestions anyone can give.

I would suggest you call your dr. I kept my ovaries so I am not dealing with HRT. But from what I have seen on here I think it should be starting to work. It sometimes takes a while for the dr to figure out the right HRT and the right amount. I hope you feel better soon.

I had my TAH on January 18th (no ovaries) so I am only on week three but my doctor started me on premarin 0.6 one week after surgery and I have had a few crying spells myself over things that make me laugh now when I think about what I cried for. My doctor told me that the crying is from the surgery and will pass, didn't say how long though....wish I knew too! I know this won't help but just wanted to let you know you are not alone.
