how is this for an idiot remark

Juniper.....just another tidbit about this DR. She also LOVES to prescribe meds....big time!!!! While this may be great to some, it isn't to me. I like to find the underlying reason for the pain and try to treat the problem rather than cover it up with drugs and not know if I have a condition that is serious or otherwise. I once expressed my concerns about having to take so many meds and her reply was "that's what they are there for...you might as well take advantage of them." I don't know, maybe I overeacted to this, but for everything we put in our bodies there is a consequence - good and bad. I almost changed DR's then and wish I had trusted my instincts but you can bet I'll be looking for a new one now.

stupid comments

Hey Antiquelady,
You think the comment from your sister-in-law was stupid, try this one from DH!
He told me that he will go to work on Wednesday and be home the rest of the week, I should be fine by Saturday!! (my surgery is Thursday 10-21)
At least you get nines to recover, my DH thinks TWO days is enough!!
How stupid is that?

Missy, sorry you were subject to such an inconsiderate comment! You just never know what you're going to get hit with by others.

I had my annual eye exam last week and the technician who was helping me with ordering frames & lenses (after our conversation SOMEHOW got around to hysterectomy) wanted me to "pinky swear" that I would insist my doctor leave my ovaries, tubes AND cervix...or leave him and go to a different doctor!!!

This woman is very sweet, energetic and funny, so I "pinky swore" that I would discuss all options with my doctor at pre-op., just to get her off the subject and back to ordering my frames!!!!!

~Tammy
