Questions for after sex
I had a VATH with both ovaries on Aug. 18th. I went for my last check up yesterday, and was cleared for sex. Well, We tried last night. It didn't hurt but burned really bad. ?? Could it possibly be the KY gel (we never had to use it before and he wanted to be sure it didn't hurt me)
My main question is Can i use a slender tampon after sex to catch the ........... I had to change underwear twice. I thought a slender might work on those occasions.
Thank you for all your help.

Questions for after sex
Can't you just use a panty liner instead? I wouldn't use a tampon.

Questions for after sex
I was cleared for sex at 3 weeks but was too chicken to try up until 10th week post op
I have used the KY and it does not burn on me, but everyone is different....did you have any bleeding or spotting after?
I would not use a tampon either because of possible infections, try to use a panty liner instead.

I wouldn't use a tampon either. Panty liner should be just fine.

I will try the panty liner. Thanks for your answers. I didn't have any spotting or bleeding, just the burning sensation. I'll try without the KY gel.

Questions for after sex
Hi Sherry, It could be the KY. I wont use it coz of the glycerin in it. I found one which is organice, water based and has aloe vera to aid healing. It is quite soothing and dont know if I can say brand names on here but here goes. Its called "Yes". and if you google it as yes lube you will be able to research for yourself. I have only found one place in NZ tht has it so have it posted to me but it is the best one I have tried and like the fact it i organic with no nasty chemicals to upset the balance of my vagina. All the very best and I hope you find something that works for you.

Questions for after sex
Hi Shurbur
I would say no to the tampon, use the liner
Also, you may have to try different lubricants until you find one that agrees with your chemistry (which might change over the next few months).
The burning could also be the result of "not being used" for the past several weeks?
Have fun rediscovering intimacy

the burning could be from an infection, something in the lube you are allergic to or from vaginal dryness. are you on any hrt? if it keeps up, you should let your dr know.
i'd call and check about using tampons...i'm sure it would be fine. i always hated pads or panty liners and would prefer the tampon if i needed it.
