Eating day before?

I go in for my TVH tomorrow. Doc said no need for a bowel prep No special instructions. Should I still eat pretty light today? I know it's not medically necassary... I just don't want to get sick tomorrow. I was thinking of sticking to soups today and lots of liquids. Can't wait 'till tomorrow

I was told nothing after midnight, but I didnt want to be stuck (literally) with stool discomfort afterwards, so i stuck to liquids the entire day prior. This was jsut my own doing. BUT, i didnt have any discomfort and didnt have any bm's in the hosptial...I was on a liquid diet there. I was afraid to ahve a bm.or to be constipated at anytime whether during surgery or soon after. I was sent home with stool softeners and back on a reg diet. Maybe this was too much off the subject. No bowel prep here either!
I had lots of liquids the day before, mostly water. Hubby and I did go out to lunch....pizza and salad. I felt pretty good......mild constipation but more water and juices after I was home with stool softeners to make going easier and I've been fine ever since.

If you are really worried then maybe just go ahead and stick to a light diet.

I ate normal the day before with no bowel prep whatsoever. I had no problems that drinking lots of water didn't cure.
