Scar Tissue

Hi....I was wondering if anyone as had scar tissue in the vagina area after surgery. I have had recuring scar tissue there since September 12th 2007. I have a Doctors appointment every two weeks to have it frozen. It keeps coming back so a few weeks ago I had cryo cautery done and it came back again. Please if anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

Hi I saw in your profile that you had a vaginal hysterectomy. Did you also have repairs done, or is the scar tissue on the actual cuff (at the top of the vagina)?

I had A&P (anterior & posterior) repairs done with my vaginal hysterectomy, and ended up forming a bridge of scar tissue about as thick as a finger connecting the front and back incisions as they healed. It effectively divided the vagina in two and made penetration impossible. I ended up having an outpatient surgery to have the scar tissue removed and the incisions restitched and cauterized. Then my DR had me use Premarin vaginal cream three times a day for three weeks (I had to wear a pad because it was messy using that much that often), to help it heal better and keep from forming more scar tissue. It worked like a charm, and I've had no further problems.

The Doctor never really said exactly where it is. She said I have scar tissue on the right and left side of the vagina. I know this is starting to get frustrating. It's been way to long and to many co-pays! So the cream prevents the scar tissue from coming back? I will have to mention it to her. Thank You
