I just found out and I am so scared
If your son still isn't sleeping through the night then I would see if a relative or close friend would be able to stay overnight with you for the first week or so. If you have an abdominal incision you'll have a hard time getting up out of bed until around the time your staples come out. I know nothing about how the vaginal hyst women feel but moving around seems to be a bit easier on them.
Kids are resilient and can usually handle what life throws at them a good bit better then we can. Is there anyway to reschedule doctor appts for after you'll get the okay to drive (around 4-6 weeks)? Do you have a trusted relative who can handle these appts? I had my mother take my daughter to her dentist appt and handle some of the prep for the school year that was starting.
Go into this organized and everything will be fine. The biggest issue for me turned out to be feeding everyone, that was why I suggested batch cooking some freezer meals to get you through the first week or three. The very best thing I can compare it to is prepping for the arrival of a new baby (except it's you). Things are going to be choatic and nutty for a little while, you're going to be tired and consumed with recovering, and you're going to need help to keep the household running smoothly while you recover. It helps to go into the Pre-op articles here and follow some of the great advice on setting up your recovery room, what to pack for the hospital, and it gives you some really great starting points to dive into this.

I just found out and I am so scared
So far as far as I know I am schedulled for a vagimal hyst. He is going to try to save my ovaries so that I don't have to deal w/ HRTS but he is unsure b/c I have had cysts and polups that have ruptured so hopefully he can save at least one like my mom, she didn't have to take HRTS and didn't go through menopause until her late 40's. My mama is going to stay the night a couple times and my Best friend (BFF) is going to stay too. During the day my sister in law is going to stay w/me during the day and she said she'll keep the house clean and cook and take my youngens to and from school. I asked my husband if he wanted me to reschedule Evans Dr. appt. but he was unsure b/c he is supose to get 18 mon shots?? how do deligate and rearrange w.out anyone missing important things??

I just found out and I am so scared
Right now the hardest thing has been dealing with the financial burden. My husband is more worried about how we are going to pay the rent and the bills this month then weather or not anybody is going to have clean clothes. Missing 2 weeks of work will be tough on the $$ side of things I am in no danger of losing my job, my boss is great but that isn't going to get the bills paid ya know?

Financially, I had to get my In-Laws to float us a small loan and we ended up using the credit card and pulling from savings a bit more than I would have liked but we made it through.
Is there any way that you can file for short-term disability through your job?
Understand that most women are not cleared for work until 4-6 weeks. That is for your doctor to decide and you'll have to talk with them to get an idea of when they usually clear their patients.

I just found out and I am so scared
I work at a small self owned ins. comp. we don't even qualify for FMLA, I am unsure about disablitiy??? I asked about returning to work and they told me that I would get driving privialges back after 2 weeks and then going back to work would depend on how I heal. I am a fast healer, and I have a seditary job, so I told my boss maybe I would come back part time after 2 weeks. He Is great, he was like "take as long as you need your job will be here when your ready" . My BFF is my supervisor so she is even taking time off and Mike ( boss ) is totally okay with it. I am lucky like that. I told my husband that I thought we would have to borrow $$ from his dad, but he was totally against the idea. So I don't know b/c he doesn't do the bills he has no clue what income is needed to pay all the bills.

Then your co probably does not have disability available to you. The only advice I can give is to write up the budget and sit down with your husband and go over everything to get him up to speed on your financial situation. That way there are no surprises. There may be bills that you can ask for an extension on that would move them back to when you have income coming back in.
Is there any way that you can do any work from home?
