I don't know if it is an option, but I needed to "nicely but forcibly" ask for a Customer Service Insurance Manager/supervisor. They may be more familiar with the ins and outs of the policy so you will hopefully get less wrong info and run-around time. I Had to do that because I was getting no where.
Hang in there and don't give up trying new things and speaking up your needs to doctors and insurance reps. Perserverance may pay off!

Rl1,
Don't suffer and try not to worry about this part. Most doctors will gladly work with you once they understand your needs. Just I learned personally I couldn't leave things to chance. Once I discussed my anxiety etc, I had no future problems.
Hugs and hang in there. Make a written list for your dr for your Monday's appointment so you have the questions you need answered in front of you. Knowledge is power, so ask questions! You deserve the best care.

Hysteroscopy scheduled

So glad to say that I was impressed with my new GYN. I will be having a hysteroscopy and will be put under for it (Thank God!!!!)

Feel like things are finally moving in the right direction. Also, was able to get a prescription for pain meds.

Thanks for your prayers and good wishes.

So happy RL1 that you have a good doctor and that things are proceeding along well.

Take care and please keep us posted how you are doing.

Post Menopausal Fibroids

Hi Ladies:

Waiting for my hysteroscopy to be scheduled.

Question: Is there anyone out there who is post-menopausal (I'm 61) who hasn't had a hysterectomy recommended if they had a fibroid? (Even a small one?)

I'm thinking that this is probably the norm for my age.

The doc said, "It is not normal to have a fibroid at your age."

So, wondering if this is inevitable? With my family history, it would probably be the intelligent thing to do anyway, but given that it is major surgery, I don't want to jump into anything either...

Trying to prepare myself for decision making. Of course, if he finds more issues, that will eliminate the need for a decision.

Thanks,
