need some advice and reassurance
You had your hysterectomy just one week after mine, and I too had an anterior and posterior repair along with a bladder sling to support my bladder. I had a check up at two weeks and the doctor only looked at the vaginal area...he didn't do an internal exam so there was no pain at all. I warned him ahead of time I wouldn't allow an internal exam until I was no longer sore. Stitches internally will just disappear. You will just gradually become stronger and less sore. At this stage your only just beginning to heal and will probably be sore for awhile longer. Don't stress about the exam. If your still sore just tell the dr. no internal exam until your recovered. He won't want to hurt you. He will just want to do an external exam, just look at the outward appearance of the vaginal opening and make sure everything looks good. At that point you will make another appt. for a few weeks later to come back at which time you should feel much much better and hopefully will not be in anymore pain. They will not do an internal exam until your soreness is completely gone. So theres not any trauma you have to worry about at your visit. If your not having anymore pain thats fine but if so thats ok too...they wouldn't put you thru something like that until you are all healed.

need some advice and reassurance
I am 4 weeks post op on Wednesday and I still am getting those tweaks and pulling. Things were moved around and traumatized during the surgery....theres lots going on in there...things are healing....your going to have those feelings for awhile. Severe pain however should be reported to your doctor. Have you ever had a cut or scrape on your arm or leg and as it begins to scab over and heal it kind of draws up or puckers up? Same thing is happening inside and your going to feel it. You'll be fine but you can always call your doctors office and speak to the nurse to ease your mind. The doctor and his staff aren't just there for the surgery, they are there to provide you with post operative care as well. If you explain your symptoms to the nurse she can determine if perhaps you need to come in sooner to see the doctor.
