Today's Diagnosis

My GP office just called to tell me I'm Diabetic. This is the 3rd Glucose in the past 8 weeks and they took this other test called a Hemoglobin A c1 to confirm.

Anyway, I'm alittle freaked out about it. I haven't even healed from this surgery yet!

No wonder this one part of my incison hasn't closed!

I will call the GYN tomorrow am.

You will find often that wounds often take longer to heal with unstable sugars. Also infections that do set in take longer and stronger remedies to heal. Yeast infections are also common among diabetics. I am so sorry that this hitting you now. Your dr should refer you to a diabetic educator ( normally they meet with patients at the hospital) . Also if your dr gives a prescription for a blood glucose monitor to test sugars, call your insurance company and normally they will send you one of your choice. Make sure you get a prescription for the testing strips because those can range in price from 50.00 to near 100.00 and prescriptions can normally reduce the price. Your ideal A1C should be down below 7. Ideal sugar ranges should range from 90-120 fasting and 121-180 non fasting.

If you need anything feel free to give me a shout!

Today's Diagnosis

No wonder why...............about the yeast........I've been having a lot of yeast infections. I have large breasts and in the past few months, I've had yeast under my breasts! I've never had a problem underneath my breasts. I knew something was strange with that. I kept telling the Dr. too. The only one that cared was the GYN!

Isn't it great that they tell you all these little things, not!
Ask your gyn for your referrals and information about diabetes I have a few sites that I do check out once in awhile.

Keep your chin up and if you need anything just let me know!

I am sorry you have diab, it is a tough disease but very manageble. Talk with your doctor and find one that specializes in diab and the local hospital may offer courses on it, for me they were very helpful.
