slight bleed 3 weeks post op

Hi everyone

I am new to this site and there is probably information somewhere pertaining to this question....but I'm having trouble knowing where to look.

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow and have had a TAH with my remaining ovary removed. I started hrt patches approx 7 days ago.

I had a really distressing foul smelling brown discharge on leaving hospital for 2 / 3 days which has decreased in smell and quantity over the last 2 weeks but this morning I had a small amount of bright red blood on my pad. I havn't had this before. Is this to be expected?

By the way this site has been fantastic and has given me more information than I had received from my consultant. I'm so glad I found it.

Thanks in anticipation

Julie

From what I have read, a little bit of blood is normal. Soaking through a pad quickly is NOT. There is a search area in the upper right corner, type in a brief description and search just hystersisters. You will find a ton of info.

I have been bleeding for over 2 weeks now, My Dr thinks it may be a hemotoma dissolving through the vagina, I have had 2 cat scans confirming hemotoma and he is not seeing anything else abnormal, if you are just spotting that is normal but like sis said heavy bleeding is not, call ur Dr. asap if thats the case. I hope all is alright for you. Hugs and Prayers

Thanks Ladies
It has stopped again today...so seems just part of the healing process and nothing to worry about.
Sending positive thoughts.
