3 days post hysterectomy - cannot believe how rough I feel - is this normal?

It's definitely worth talking to your doctor. I lost one ovary and was a sobbing mess by the very next day. However, some doctors are very good surgeons but not as good at HRT. I knew going in that was the case with my surgeon. To compensate, I picked up hormone cream from my Naturopath ahead of surgery and had it with me at the hospital. If your doctor isn't ready to have the hormone discussion yet, consider talking to a holistic practitioner.

I'm at day 7 now. Still sweating and shaking. The hot/cold sweats are now 24/7 and not just at night. Now having runny violent BM's and struggling to sleep still. Cannot eat, I have no appetite but I am drinking plenty of water. Pain is only really bad when I need to do a BM. I have no fever so it doesn't look like an infection. Crying hasn't stopped. Called Dr and my family GP and they both said it's totally normal and ride it out. The depression is very scary. I am manic at times and having panic attacks. Luckily my hubby has been off work all last week and he's off all next week as well so I'm never alone. I tried taking codeine again but my symptoms didn't improve so I am not in painkiller withdrawal.

It's 3.04am here and tomorrow is another day. I just keep telling myself this won't last forever but even 24 hours more feels too much.

Hang in there everyone. Hope everyone is doing well xxx

Hi, Emma5499

Try going to the emergency room or urgent care. SEEK another doctor for help. You should not have to ride it out.( Sound worse then man up or women up.)

I agree, this does not sound like a normal part of recovery. I think Urgent Care or the ER is warranted. You should not have to suffer with these symptoms. Even without fever, infection is still possible.

Please take care and see a doctor asap.
