So I still go on next Tuesday (8-21) but now it will be a laproscopic sugery, I wont be able to keep the cervix, she is taking the appendix and I will be put on hormones right away despite the long ago DVT.

I am adjusting to this. I will not miss another scar on my tummy (if she has to go in that way it will be a bikini cut not thru the vertical incision I have from the c-secs) but I am now feeling more loss because of the cervix going too.

I knew it probably was a good idea to let it go. I knew it wasnt for sure that I could keep it. And I agree with her recommendation based on my gyn history and how much pain I am in. Just need to adjust.

I am happy and scared about the hormones. My DVT was 21 years ago. I have had many surgeries and down times since and I have never had another clot or clotting problems. I never used any hormones tho along the way. I will be wearing my stocking for quite a while I think to help me feel safer.

Getting nervous. That's why I am rambling. Gathering stuff i want with me. Only gonna be in the castle for 1 night I will need extra help at home.

to all of you dealing with the same issues.

haveing my surgery the day after yours on the 22nd, so will be thinking about you as I go in, 21 years ago I had open heart surgery for a birth defect it took them 19 years to find, so that is my only previous surgery. I will have tlh and everything goes if cryology comes back with even a hint of cancer so mine may change to ab if that happens. hope everything goes well, will be praying for you.

why is she taking out your appendix too? I have not heard of that one. Are you having problems with it?

Hang in there! Laparoscopic is much nicer than the full cut! Just three smaller incisions to recover from - two of them are actually quite tiny!
Hang in there and message me if you want to talk!
Mine was 2.5 months ago and I can't believe I waited this long to have it done!

I'm having a full hyster and my doctor said that they take out the appendix because he will be in there already. It's not need any longer and then you don't risk it busting later on down the road. I think it's just something that some doctor's do.

Wish mine would take mine too, but the thought never crossed my mind.

She is taking the appendix because I have such a history of abdominal pain. They finally dx'ed an abdominal trigger point in the wall above the appendix this spring. As they were figuring out all of what was wrong.

So I asked her if she would take it, given the history so that it never has to be considered again a a reason for pain. This will also be my 7th abdominal surgery and my 4th major one. So I dont want to have to be opened up again.

She said usually she wouldnt. As we get older the risk goes down and if it is healthy they dont usually take it anymore.
