Bleeding and exercise questions

Hi Fellow HysterSisters!
I am 18 days post op. Had a TLH--everything gone. I am 55 yo, divorced, one child (25 yo) and I must say that I am feeling pretty good. The only concern that I have is that I continue to bleed. Not too much, but everyday i have something. Is this something that I need to be concerned about? I asked my dr and she said that it's normal but I'm wondering when it will stop. I totally understand that there was alot of stuff going on inside with the removal and the shifting of the intestines and all that but still...Anyone have any insight to this? I would truly appreciate it. Also, when does one start the exercises like stretching and yoga and when does the real walking start like power walking. Perhaps these questions are redundant but knowledge is power!!!
Thank you all in advance for your insights!!!

Re: Bleeding and exercise questions

Hi debbie8521 - Hopefully someone who has had your experience chimes in but I actually haven't had hardly any bleeding. I mentioned this to my doctor at my 2-week post op appointment and she was happy to hear it. When our appointment was done, she said she would see me at my 6-week appointment but to call her if I started bleeding. So, not sure what that means for you. Since it's light bleeding, that's probably why your doctor is thinking that it's normal, but, if it has been awhile since you mentioned it to her, I would call her again to see when she thinks it should stop. Good luck and hope your problem resolves soon!

Re: Bleeding and exercise questions

I bled for almost 6 weeks and then suddenly it all stopped...yeah! I am wondering about exercise too. I am 3 months post op but found too much movement very painful until recently. By the end of each day just with normal activity, my belly is very swollen. Glad to hear you are feeling well...good luck with your recovery!

Re: Bleeding and exercise questions

I have days that are directly proportional to my activity level. Increased activity, increased bleeding but don't get me wrong, it's not full blown bleeding, just spotting but still. I am feeling really well and I have no pain but still, sometimes I am aware of a phantom pain--like an ache where it once was....Sounds bizarre, no?? Anyway, I will be back to work next week and perhaps I am just feeling anxious because I know that I am returning to increased stress and long days. Oh well!! Back to the real world!
Thanks for all your support and kind words!
