Surgery LAVH Nov 8th

Hi ladies, I had an LAVH on 9/30 and it was the best thing I could have done. I have had severe endo for years, was dx with POF last year, and started bleeding in July up until my surgery date. They took the whole kit and kaboodle. Uterus, ovaries, tubes, and cervix. The surgery was much less trouble/pain/ worrisome then I ever thought it would be. I had a fabulous dr which helps. The first week after I was sore but I managed to get up and around and actually out of the house each day. By the 2nd week I was moving and grooving. We are now ending week 3 and I can pick up my kids, I went bowling, etc. I still haven't cleaned the house -- but hey, I didn't do that very often before. My follow up appt is on Monday and I will probably have to start HRT then. I am having the hotflashes and night sweats, but at least I am not bleeding along with them anymore. I can honestly tell you I am so glad that I did it. (I actually even thought about *sex* the other day and that hasn't happened in months.) Don't worry I didn't act on it and won't til my appt.

Please hang in there ladies. If you need to chat feel free to PM or email me.

Surgery LAVH Nov 8th

Hello ladies,
My experience in having a LAVH was very good. I am over 3 months post-op, and feeling 75-80% myself. I was very lucky to have a DH, DD & DS help with housework , laundry & driving for quite a while after my surgery. I felt that I had X amount of energy each day. So, I would choose to do certain things with that energy. I took things VERY slowly, after reading some posts of ladies who slowed down the healing process by doing too much too soon. The only complaints I had about the surgery were:1-no one expained to me the 'funny' pressure feeling I had in my bladder for a couple of days after surgery. I was convinced that I had a bladder infection, & I would not leave the hospital until my urine was tested. Apparently, that feeling was normal. And 2: I was released from the hospital 24 hours afte surgery. Although I was moving slow, I felt ok to go home. Around 8 that evening I got the most severe gas pains I had ever had-10x worse that childbirth! I wanted to pass out from the pain! My husband called the hospital & was told to buy Mylanta gas. I kept the bottle next to me for 2 days, and drank form it often. Ask about the gas pains-they were very painful!
Good luck with your surgeries!
