Back to work on Monday

Good luck to everyone heading back to work!! I went back 4-18 to my third grade class. The first week was rough and I would crash on the couch when I got home. This week is completely different. I was 6 weeks this Wednesday. I've had enough energy at the end of the day to cook and to go to Curves on Monday, church on Wednesday and taking my mom out tomorrow evening. It's amazing what a difference a week makes. I walk at a normal pace, sleep any position I want, completely forget I had surgery. Only problem is DH is realizing how good I feel and I may have to pick up the mop again.! He's been great. I just feel like

Good luck!

Back to work on Monday

Cathy - I was thinking about you and am so happy to hear you are doing well. I went back this week. I'm tired, but gaining strength each day. In fact, being back to work at school is the only place I feel like my old self because I can do almost anything the job requires. I feel overwhelmed once I get home and see all the work that needs to be done. I think my family assumes I can do much more than I'm able to at this time.

Hope your Dad is doing well too. Keep up the good work.

Blessings,
Donna

Back to work on Monday

Donna,
Thanks for asking about Dad. We took him home the weekend before I went to work. A longtime friend stayed with him for the next week. He's getting stronger each day, but still fighting his asthma and lung problem. Fluid built up around his lungs, but his GP and lung doc (both located close to where he lives) are working together trying to get lungs better. The cardovasicular doc gave him a clean bill of health as far as heart is concerned. DH is going up next week to help and get him for an appointment.
Everything else is back to normal. Working, cooking, laundry, grading papers, etc., although with both children gone, things stay pretty calm. Dh still insists that I not mop or vacuum, and I haven't argued with him. For the most part, I forget that I had surgery. Although when I workout at Curves, I can certainly tell that it's been awhile. The body gets stiff very quickly.
I remember my first week back to work. I was worthless as soon as I got in from work. Each week is better than the previous.
Take care and God bless!
