I know Traceylyne. It is always good to know you are not the only one experiencing a certain kind of problem.

I hope that your pain goes away soon.

God Bless

Bladder pains - OUCH

I am one week three days post op and having the same bladder fullness that spasms and hurts at the very end. It also starts cramping in the general area. I was also hoping it would end soon and haven't asked the dr because my two week appt isn't here yet. Doesn't feel like a normal infection, but I will have her check it when I go. Thanks for all your imput. Helps to know its at least a common thing among us.

imblessed:

I have one question for you... Did she work your nerves with that statement????

Yes she did!! I didn't know what to say. I thought "major surgery" was: organ transplants or anything to do with the heart, brain or lungs. I was so clueless going into this. I had no idea that the recovery period could be almost one year. Now I fully understand why is it so very, very important to take care of ourselves at the beginning!

I have purchased a toilet seat raiser. I find this to be very helpful. You can get it in a pharmacy.

Good luck!

Bladder pains - OUCH

I've got the same exact pain.
I had surgery June 10 and have been on Detrol for 3 weeks. I don't think it has helped much at all. I've never had a UTI-no urological problems before, and I don't have a UTI now. (I was tested.)
I talked to my DR yesterday and he told me that my uterus was "peeled away " from my bladder, and there was a great deal of scraping done due to endo. He said this, unfortunately, is a very common problem in women who've had hysterectomies. (???!!!) He said it may take more time to heal but if I've no significant improvement by 3 months out, he will have me see a urologist. (I am really hoping for significant improvement!!!)
I have to say, I wasn't thrilled with his answer.
I'm still hoping for the best!

I am not yet 3 months post op and I had horrible bladder spasms after surgery. They are not as intense as they were right afer surgery BUT I do still get them.

I spoke to my Primary Dr. yesterday and he told me that I am still in the healing process and it will take some time. Told me that if it wasn't gone by November (about 6 months post op) then we would have to do some further testing.

So, you are not alone, yes (OUCH) and hopefully this will subside for all of us!

Hang in there sisters!

Bladder pains - OUCH

Hello Ladies,

We are all experiencing the same pain. And we all are getting the same diagnosis "your body is still, it will take time." I guess we should take their advice. Be patient and allow the body to heal. I personally want this pain behind. It's be so long. It's so strange how long recovery is from a TAH. I pray that I and all of you do not have to have any more surgery.

I guess we can hold on to the fact that it is common and nothing and the we don't have any major problems.

My prayer is that all of you are free of this pain one day soon. Hold on sisters. The word of God says that He will never allow more on us than what we can bear. Let's lean and depend on His word.

I love you all and lots of hugs. Thanks for sharing.

Bladder pains - OUCH

I am almost 6 weeks post op and after 1 1/2 weeks I was in horrible pain and just knew I had a bladder infection. I went to my doc and I had blood and whatever else in my specimin. She gave me a antibiotic and it helped tremendously, but occasionally I feel it is coming back but then goes away. I have my 6 week appt next Weds, so I'm gonna ask whats up. I'll let you know. Hang in there.

Bladder pains - OUCH

I am 8 weeks post op and have the same symptoms as all of you are having with pain in the bladder at the end of voiding. It has not gone away since surgery and has gotten worse. Now it hurts mostly at night and feels like I have to urinate but only a little comes out with pain.

I went to the doctor last week and he put me on bactrim. He looked at my urine and said I might have an infection. The pain did not go away so I went back yesterday to his office and he was gone so I saw another doctor there. He said it didn't look like an infection but he will get a culture and find out in a few days.

In the meantime he thought it was cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) from the trauma from surgery and catheters. So He put me on Cyprofloxen and PYRIDIUM. The pyridium numbs your bladder and what a RELIEF!!! I have only taken one pill so far and it's a miracle. First time with no pain.

Bladder pains - OUCH

I am at 6 weeks.
I asked the doctor about this. She did a urine test which came out fine.
She said "Remember, we moved your bladder and it had to move back to where it belongs and is probably still bruised from us handleing it."

I hope it stops soon because it really is annoying.
