So Tired of urinating!

OK so I am 5 weeks out now and for the last 2.5 weeks I have been going pee so many time a day! I don't have an infection, I pee clear and the color I see is in the morning after I wake up.
I go all day long (at least twice an hour), not a lot but dang it all I'm tired of getting up to pee and toiletpaper around here is beginning to be worth its weight in gold.
If I even try to hold it, then I get lots of pressure when I go and I don't want that. I was checked out (test) at castle for infection and I'm good, no infection.
Anyone else going this much?

I Hear you Duchie,

I am in there almost as much. It seems like its about once an hour (I'll have to start watching the clock). Its very uncomfortable if I try to hold it-ya know.

So Tired of urinating!

Hello. I had a similar problem, going in dribs and drabs and driblets, but feeling there was a definite need to go each time. I also checked out to be free of infection. I believe it's that my bladder had been irritated by the catheter. To this day, my bladder has never been quite the same.

I have identified some things that irritate me a lot.

Caffeine (as in coffee, regular tea, decaf tea, and even green tea).

Acidic things, including cranberry juice and tomatoes, wine, olives, orange juice and oranges.

Carbonated anything, whether water or soda pops.

If I watch my intake carefully, I can manage to forget I actually have a bladder and just be the way I used to be. But more often than not, I am reminded that I have a bladder (I can just feel it waiting, down there, today, all day), and that I must have had too much of something (today, it's caffeine -- I had 12 oz of coffee this morning, and it's irritating the interstices of my bladder).

If some of what you've been having are these things, perhaps try cutting back to having just plain old water, and see if this makes a difference for you.

Things do get better. I know it's exhausting to get up and down from that toilet bowl, which can eventually just seem sooooo loooow down there. My doc suggested trying to hold it; I thought that was a crummy suggestion and just kept on doing what I had to do to relieve myself and try to get my bladder back into shape.

In all, it's a minor concern, I guess, as long as you don't tear any stitches or strain any muscles along the way.

Best wishes to you.

So Tired of urinating!

Duchie,

Always. Everytime I get ready to do anything I have to stop in the bathroom first. I dont think I spent this much time on a potty when my mom was potty training me so many years ago.

Hey Blue Herron,

Your telling us we should try to hold out on going to the bathroom so much? If I hold out I tend to leak (sorry really didnt want to share that), but if it would help I'm all for it.

So Tired of urinating!

You ladies crack me up! I love it!! Thank you for making me laugh over something that is driving me nuts.
That Dr needs a wedgie! What a moron to tell us to hold it! I wonder if he ever had abdominal surgery where his bladder was pushed back for a while. sheesh the things Doc's will say.
I drink about 2-3 cups of coffee a day, normally 2 cups when I am working (pre -surgery) after I drink my coffee I drink nothing but water. I am a water freak can't help it. I like water, its refreshing, clean and the only thing that quenches my thirst.
My DH will ask before we go anywhere, "do you have to go? or once we get somewhere 'do you have to go" oh and the one I love is...
Me: "honey I have to go "
DH: "when do you not have to go"

of course he always says it with a smile and is only teasing me, I laugh and then waddle to the nearest bathroom

Oh Duchie,

Thanks for starting this thread. Its great to laugh about this.

Since my surgery all have have been drinking is apple juice, oj, water and lemonaide.

I figured I had enough gas and didnt want to add to it my drinking any soda as its been stated here enough it can have that effect.

You know its funny. I drank nothing but water and apple juice when I was at the castle. The apple juice tasted so good, and I'm not a big juice drinker.
Dang it see, I have to go again!!!
