Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

Hi Wendy!

I too had a TAH on 1/14! Feeling worse the last week than I did in weeks 2 and 3. In reading a lot of posts, it sounds common!!!!!

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

Hi,
I recall thinking I was great in weeks 2 and 3, then became tired and sore again at week 4. This lasted a couple of weeks....Then around week 7, I started to have a bit more energy. So don't worry.

Good luck, keep looking after yourself,

Yep...I recall hitting a wall at around week 5. I seemed to get tired more easily, and my incision began feeling like neurons firing. It was really annoying. This "Five Week Phenomenon" seems to be pretty common.

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

Had TAH 4.5 wks ago as well. I still get really tired after outings or activity of just abut any kind. Also still having pain. The pain seems to change, not the same each day. I am sooo ready to be over this, but I know I have a long way to go.

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

I'm glad to hear the bladder pressure is normal. I can't stand it, but I do notice when I drink more water the pressure isn't as bad the next day. I will bring it up to my doctor if it doesn't get better.
does anyone else still have the need to hold their belly when walking around. I'm 3 weeks post op and still need to hold my belly in place.

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

I hold my belly in place regularly... I'm 3 weeks post-op also. And I still sleep with a pillow on my belly. The pressure helps and it also keeps me from turning over to my side, which pulls and hurts.

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

Wendy,

This is totally normal. I experienced this and it freaked me out and depressed me! I was great at wk 2.5 - 4.5, then felt horrible... pain, pulling, pressure. Also thought I had a UTI. Negative. Was bladder spasms that I NEVER had before that point. Very depressed about "backsliding". Dr. was no help. I ended up going to acupuncture to help the pain since I had to go back to work at 6wks (dr. would not extend my leave.). Anyway acupuncture helped immensely, but I know I would have gotten better anyway. It just sped things along, IMO.

I went back to work yesterday and did great! Today was good too! Don't lose hope, by week 8 at the latest, you should feel tons better.

Pain and fatigue at 4.5 weeks

I'm a firm believer in acupunture (my older daughter had it at NIH when she had brain surgery 6 years ago), but no one around here that does it. Now I'm wondering if bladder spasms isn't part of my problem. Several ladies have brought it up. I just know when I first feel the need to go, it isn't long before it is just painful.

I go back to work March 9th. I'll work a week and then have another week off for spring break. Hopefully that will ease me back into my work schedule.

I am sure yoga does some stretching on your insides. I too worry about you causing adhesions... You only have one time to heal correctly, I would becareful and rethink... for your own healing future. GOOD LUCK
