Hives on incision

I have hives that come and go on my one incision. The first time it happened I thought I had been bitten by a bug. Well now it happens a few times a week. It will last a few hours then go completely away. When it occurs it turns red and becomes raised. Then it itches. Has anyone ever had this issue?

Re: Hives on incision

I had an allergic reaction to the glue used on my 4 incisions but it did not come and go, it was constant and very uncomfortable. Thankfully after consistent use of hydrocortisone and benadryl cream, it went away.

Re: Hives on incision

Well I am over 4 months post op. The incisions are healed just very light scaring. The hive appears on the incision. I am starting to wonder if it's a stitch that didn't dissolve in the muscle tissue. If it continues I suppose I will call the doctor up and ask.
