strange bruises on my ankles...

Hi Everyone!!
I'm 10 days post-op, and today I shaved my leggs:-) I noticed bruises on both ankles and tenderness on one ankle. Strange...just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My imagination is a little wacky. Wondering how the bruises may have gotten there. What kind of contraption did they use on me during surgery?

I had some ankle bruising too. I didn't even notice it until my surgeon mentioned it. He said that for an abdominal surgery he uses a fair amount of anticoagulant which leads to easy bruising. I did have weird blue marks on my belly which were bruises where the heparin was injected. He said the bruises were probably from the pressure cuffs they put on my lower legs to help prevent blood clots. The bruises went away fairly quickly.
