16 days after hysterectomy and having severe lower back pain

Hi, had the davinci hysterectomy and my ovaries are still with me. Have felt like I was doing good and taking it easy, but last night had severe lower back pain. I have read about the muscles not being used from sitting all day, but I have been trying to walk every day. This pain takes my breath away. Heating pad and ibuprofen help a little.

Hi.. I had TAH on Oct 16th.. debilitating back pain this week (Tues and Wed). Couldn't get comfortable in any position and nearly brought me to tears. I used a heating pad and took Tylenol Back and Muscle pain reliever. Also, I found gentle stretching, i.e. chin to chest and neck stretches to be helpful. Feeling better today. I hope you get relief soon...take care

Thank you for replying! I called the nurse this morning and she said I overdid it yesterday. The pain in my back is just a dull ache now and I have a killer headache. Nurse said it sounded like a muscle spasm and in all my life I haven't thought a muscle spasm would be so painful! I am in bed today and really had thought everything was healing well. Glad to hear you are feeling better from your back pain. It gives me hope!

it was about week 3 that my lower back started hurting. For me it was from the position we are in during surgery. For me ice was the only thing that helped - not heat. Some get relief with heat. Whichever works is what I say. Ibuprofen didn't even help it much.
