Re: 6 weeks and a day still lightly spotting is this normal?

I think that some light spotting for a couple of months is normal. But, anything you are not sure about you should give your doctor a call. Never hurts to be certain.

I hope all is well and that you are adjusting well to being back at work.

Re: 6 weeks and a day still lightly spotting is this normal?

I'm 8 weeks and a day and I'm still spotting. It is worse when I'm going to and from work. I'm on public transportation(a lot of walking). It isn't a lot. A swipe on the TP and a faint discoloration on the panty liner. I too wonder when will this end. I'm tired of it.

Re: 6 weeks and a day still lightly spotting is this normal?

I had spotting still at my 6 wk check up and upon my Dr doing an internal exam she found several small polyps that had formed on my vaginal cuff and that was the reason for the spotting. She put silver nitrate on them, and I have not had any spotting since, minus the silver nitrate that came out slowly over the course of a few days. Its wonderful. She said that if I had any spotting again, to come in and she would check to make sure those polyps (granulation tissue) was healed up. Because the spotting should be gone by now if everything is healed up inside. You may want to put a call into your dr.

Re: 6 weeks and a day still lightly spotting is this normal?

Dancer22, you are welcome. I had thought since my periods were forever flowing rivers that i would spot forever too, but I was wrong. My Dr told me that by 6 wks there shouldn't be anymore spotting unless something just isn't healed up like it should be. Even with moderate exercise there should be no spotting, or with intercourse. I feel reassured now that if I do begin spotting now or even months down the road, I will know its those pesky polyps that don't want to go away, then it will be another course of silver nitrate and sometimes it can take several of those to finally get rid of them. Make sure your Dr doesn't dismiss your spotting, because by now you should be spot free.

Re: 6 weeks and a day still lightly spotting is this normal?

Ladies, you've given me something to think about. At my 6 week postop I told my Dr about thespotting and she said I could expect a little spotting on and off. If it continues Iwill call the office and talk to them. Thanks.
