LSH Very tight tummy can I stretch it?

My tummy is so tight. It feels like a rubber band that is wound too tight. When I stand up I notice it is difficult to stand up straight and my back hurts from hunching over. I tried gently stretching it and it seemed to help. I am wondering if it is ok for me to do that?

My doctor told me to stretch anytime during my recovery. I had a LAVH and Endometriosis clean up. I stretched my abdomen very gently, on bed. I would lie on my side and reach over my head so my spine would elongate and arch. Reach down through your feet too but push your heels down. If you point your toes your calves contract and mine tended to cramp! Picture how a cat stretches laying down, getting as long as possible. Do it twice, lie in each side.

there r some exercises on this site too somewhere, i printed them off awhile back, look in post hysterectomy articles or exercises, lemmekno if u dont find them, il b more specific, i remember the 1st 4wks or so after my hyst i did not really wanna stretch, i stayed curled up alot, ur early in ur recovery, give it time

Like you, I started feeling the need to stretch during the first week. Initially, just reminding myself to stand up straight was about all the stretching I could stand, but did seem to make things better. During the second week, I started feeling like raising my hands above my head would feel good, and so it did! I think stretching is much less likely to be damaging than lifting. My doctor was very encouraging about telling me that I wouldn't hurt myself if I just listened to my body.
