8wks Post Op first day back at work!

Had my TAH on Jan 20th, so I'm just past the 8wk mark and feeling really good. I started back to work today, I stand all day, and found it extremely tiring. My back is very sore and the entire area around my hips & pelvis seems to be the worst. Anyone else found this? Just wanting to make sure this is normal, very stiff by the end of the day after doing too much.
Just want to hear from others at this point in their recovery to see what they are experiencing.

Re: 8wks Post Op first day back at work!

I think what you are experiencing is normal. When I returned to work a couple weeks ago after a TAH, I also experienced soreness in my back and pelvic area. I really felt it at the end of the day so much so that I could barely walk up a flight of stairs. I was so stiff. For a couple days, I found it helpful to wear an abdominal binder when I got home and to take an over the counter motrin if necessary. I think that as I'm adjusting to the work environment, I am getting physically stronger. I am now feeling good a the end of the day, I don't need any medication. I'm exercising now, which helps me a lot physically and emotionally. ts getting easier. I am also listening to my body and do not hesitate to rest when necessary. I trust that you will also get some relief and that your transition back to work will get easier. Take care.
