new sister

I am new here, and am scheduled for hyst. on Wednesday. I am not sure of the abbreviation. It will be laproscopic with laser assist removal of uterus....Suffer from adeno. 32 yr old mother of 12 and 8 yr old. I was excited now I am nervous.

Hi akkc96! And welcome! Any questions/concerns, just ask. Can't answer them all but we can steer you in the right direction, maybe, or at the very least, give you some comforting words of support.

What would the abbr. be for this surgery? I feel like a great big dork for not knowing.

Maybe LAVH or LSH? Mine is a LAVH...removal of uterus and cervix...possibility of ovaries as well but hope not. There is a list on this site.....believe under the pre-op or alternatives tab. You are not a dork! If you can't find exactly what you are looking for on this site then I would suggest calling your docs office and asking so you can read up on it a little.
